Question: 1330-4715
My wax begonia is in full bloom outdoors. I want to bring it indoors. Any tips? Jane, Providence, RI

Mort's Answer:
Bring it in as soon as possible. It is a tender annual and will die in a frost. Put your plants into an eight inch clay pot with a third sand and sterile potting soil. Wash the leaves. You can remove much of the outdoor soil. Soak it once but successive water can be applied after the soil has dried. It will do better in a south facing window. You will not need fertilizer until January. A higher middle number fertilizer will keep the flowers coming. Be prepared to pick up a lot of dead flowers. As you know this plant is a continual bloomer.
