Question: 801-3212
When is a good time to water? Charlie, Narragansett, RI

Mort's Answer:
Some folks can only water on odd or even days because of local restrictions. Lawns require one inch per day including mother nature's contribution. Blue grass and some ryes will turn brown when they are dormant in the summer. You can rot the roots, if the grass is dormant for a prolonged time. It occurs when the temps go over 90. Morning applications can require more quantity because of evaporation during the day. Excess water at night can spread fungal diseases.
