Question: 1011-3713
My spathiphyllum leaves are brown. I used some spikes two weeks ago. I have been using a liquid fertilizer regularly. Jane , Groton, CT

Mort's Answer:
Japanese White Flag is named such because the enemy in World War II indicated surrender by waving the flag. In this case it is choking on all your TLC. It is important that you remove those spikes into its gut ASAP. S. floribundum and S.patini are like most tropicals in the winter. They require less fertilizer and water and not more.
