Does seaweed help in the garden? I understand that there are many essential trace elements in the soil that help animal health and seaweed can make gardens vigorous. Steven, White Haven, PA

Seaweed contains all 16 trace elements that assist at thousands of a percent to aid plant development and nutrition. Chlorine, cobalt, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, sodium and zinc are essential for animal nutrition. Other trace elements required by animals are chromium, iodine,selenium and perhaps fluorine. Gardeners that add seaweed all attest to the magical difference to ordinary fertilization.
