Question: 504-1211
Our house plant, which we are told is a Canadian Maple, has not bloomed. How can we make it bloom? Dee, New London, CT

Mort's Answer:
Abutilon hybridum has variegated and lobed leaves like a maple tree. Flowers are little trumpets in a many different colors. Also called the Chinese bellflower it will so well in cool temperatures. It is best grown in an east or west window. Repot your plant into a two inch larger clay pot with a third sand and potting soil. Put a tablespoon of 5-10-10 fertilizer on the top of the soil each spring.
